Fairfield County owners can reach Innovative Restorations by following the Merritt Parkway north until it becomes the Wilbur Cross Parkway, which runs to Wallingford. Depending on whether you start in Bridgeport, Westport, Norwalk, Stamford or Greenwich, the drive is roughly 40 minutes to a little over an hour.
American Muscle and European Classics
Our project gallery includes a 1960 Jaguar XK150 and a 1966 Morgan alongside Chevelles, Mustangs and vintage trucks. Whether your car calls for a factory-correct restoration or a restomod with modern brakes, fuel injection and air conditioning, we build it around how you plan to use it.
Clear Communication on Longer Projects
A restoration is a long project, and you should not have to drive up every week to know where it stands. We provide an initial estimate before the build, a second assessment once the car is disassembled, and regular updates along the way, with your approval before any unexpected repairs. Our FAQ covers estimates, timelines and deposits.
Paint and Finish Work
We use an in-house mixing system and a color database of new and antique factory color codes, and we can create custom colors as well. See painting and refinishing for the full process.
Original Restoration or Restomod?
A restoration returns a car to its original appearance and function using OEM or OE-spec reproduction parts. A restomod keeps the classic appearance while adding safety, performance and comfort through current technology. Which one is right depends on how you plan to use the car. Our article Restoration or Restomod: Which Is Right for Your Ride? can help you decide.
Buying a Classic? Know What You Are Getting
If you are considering a purchase, our guides to buying a classic car and inspecting one before you buy explain what to look for. We also provide vehicle inspections with a thorough condition report.

Common Questions
How is pricing determined?
All pricing is based on the time, materials and parts needed to complete the work. Because no two cars are the same, an estimate is a ballpark figure, not a guarantee, and we update it as the project develops.
How do I insure a classic car properly?
Speak with your insurance agent about classic and collector coverage. They will work with you to classify the condition and value of the car based on details such as how it is used and stored. Our FAQ lists features these policies may include.
